Police ID man who died in Parkway Village shooting

Memphis police said a man was shot as he approached a home in the Parkway Village area Wednesday night and later died from his injuries at the hospital.

The victim was later identified by police as 33-year-old Lavoris Williams. No arrests had been made as of Thursday evening.

Police responded to a shooting call shortly after 10 p.m. at a home in the 4800 block of Teal Avenue off Knight Arnold Road and Boxdale.

Officers said a man was shot as he approached the home. Three men in a small vehicle fled eastbound on Knight Arnold, police said.

The man was taken to the Regional Medical Center where he later died.
