Police identify homicide victim in North Memphis shooting

Memphis police identified the man who died in a Wednesday evening shooting in North Memphis as Calvin Smith, 41. 

As of Thursday evening, no one had been arrested, the police posted on Twitter.

Smith and a female victim were shot shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of North Claybrook, police said.

Both were taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition and Smith later died, according to police.

The police department didn't immediately release suspect information or say what led to the shooting.
