Suspect's car used in fatal robbery

Memphis police are investigating after a man was shot to death in South Memphis Saturday night.

The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. in the parking lot of the Quick Mart convenience store at 1908 S. Lauderdale, police said. Two suspects jumped James Morton, 25, in the parking lot, robbing and shooting him. Morton was taken to the Regional Medical Center but did not survive.

Police have made no arrests yet. They have surveillance photos of a suspect, and said they fled the scene in an older model silver four-door sedan.

The suspect captured on camera is a black man around 5-feet-8 with a medium build, medium complexion and a low-cut hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark jeans and black shoes.
