A Halloween-themed neighborhood cleanup of the Crosstown area will include a new mural along the North Parkway underpass.

This is a rendering of the reverse graffiti mural that artist Anthony Lee will install along the North Parkway underpass.

Creep Sweep, taking place Saturday, Oct. 29, is a combination of art event and community party, said Bianca Phillips, communications coordinator for Crosstown Arts, one of the event's sponsors.

The focus of the event is tidying up the area around the Crosstown Concourse before thousands of runners and spectators pass by it during the St. Jude Marathon coming up Dec. 8. To top off the effort, artist Anthony Lee will install his "reverse grafitti" mural, created by power-washing patterns into the grimy concrete walls along North Parkway.

There also will be a "Trunk-or-Treat" (in the parking lot of Mardi Gras Memphis, 496 N. Watkins), several food trucks and a community art activity.

Creep Sweep will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the block around Crosstown Concourse. More information at crosstownarts.org/calendar/creep-sweep.
