Man shot, killed at Whitehaven Summit Park Apartments

A man was shot and killed Thursday night at a Whitehaven apartment complex, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Officers arrived around 11 p.m. to the Summit Park Apartments in the 1700 block of Brookgreen Drive where a man was unresponsive on the ground, according to MPD spokesman Louis Brownlee. The 22-year-old victim was pronounced dead on the scene, he said.

Brownlee said an investigation revealed the unnamed victim was approached by male suspect who shot him after the two interacted. The suspect fled and police have no one in custody, he said.

This is an ongoing investigation, Brownlee said.
