Memphis police have arrested four people in connection with the stabbing death of a man at a Frayser home Thursday.

Brittany Hunt, 23, Matthew Jones, 31, John Rork, 20, and Heather Smith, 32, all of Memphis have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Roger Brewer, according to an arrest affidavit.

Brewer was found stabbed multiple times at his home in the 1500 block of Roosevelt Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers were called to do a welfare check on the victim. Brewer was found dead on the floor in the bedroom of the home off Steele and Watkins.

Investigators received information on the scene that Jones lived at the home with the victim. Police later found Jones at a vacant home in the 2900 block of Birchdale along with suspects Hunt and Rork, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police said Jones had a cut on his hand that he had wrapped with tape. The three suspects were taken in for questioning by homicide detectives.

The three told police Smith planned the robbery because she needed money and they agreed to take part in the robbery, according to an affidavit.

Smith was later arrested and admitted to driving the group to the home. She told police that when she picked up the three suspects after the robbery they handed her the "bloody money"  but she gave the cash to Hunt.

Hunt told police she acted as a look-out at the front door and alleged that Jones stabbed the victim. She told police that she heard the victim repeatedly say, "Matt, why are you doing this?"

The suspects were also charged with murder in perpetration of aggravated robbery. Hunt faces an additional charge of being a fugitive from justice.

All four were being held without bond and will be in court Monday.
