Man run over and killed in South Memphis, police say

Memphis police are investigating after a man was run over and killed, officials said late Wednesday night.

The incident happened just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Elder and Daggett in South Memphis, police said. Responding officers found the 63-year-old man lying in the grass. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police later discovered that someone driving a silver vehicle used the car to hit the man several times, then fled. Police have made no arrests yet.
