Memphis police were investigating a homicide Sunday night in the 3200 block of Edgeware in the area of Winchester and Old Tchulahoma.

Memphis police Lt. Karen Rudolph said officers located one man inside a vehicle who had been shot to death.

Sibyl Dansberry, 62, was in her kitchen cooking when she heard three or four gunshots that were "very loud."

"Like they were almost at my door," she said.

Ronessia Banks, 39, who lives nearby with her three daughters and granddaughter, also said she heard four or five gunshots.

"We hit the floor," she said.

She looked outside and saw that a red Cadillac had hit a mailbox and crashed into a yard down the street. She went to the scene and saw the victim and "a lot of blood."

"I've never experienced anything like this," she said. "It's so unreal."

No suspect information was available and the investigation was ongoing.
