Victim in October shooting, robbery dies

A man who was shot in a robbery at the Memphis Inn Motel in October died Saturday, police said. He is Memphis' 215th homicide victim of 2016, increasing a grim record for the city.

The victim, who was not identified in a release from MPD Lt. Karen Rudolph, was found by police Oct. 10 after checking into the motel with a woman, then being robbed by two men. One of the men shot him, and the men and woman left the scene in the victim's vehicle, according to the release. They also took cash from the victim, the release said. The victim was transported to Regional One in critical condition.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
