MPD identifies man killed in robbery on Lucy Avenue

Memphis police have identified Frankie Sanders as the man shot and killed during a robbery at his South Memphis home Monday.

Officers found Sanders, 55, with a gunshot wound around 3 a.m. at the home in the 200 block of Lucy Avenue. He was taken to the Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

"The investigation revealed the victim was approached by a male who shot him during a robbery," said police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph in an email Tuesday.
