Williams is charged with first degree murder and aggravated robbery.

A man nicknamed "M-Dog" was arrested and charged in the Aug. 6 robbery and killing of Sandino Stone, according to a Memphis police affidavit, and court records say he'd also been charged in a 2006 killing.

The victim was shot at Robeson Avenue and Manassas, according to the affidavit. That's near the Medical District, a few blocks from where four people were struck during a drive-by shooting on Monday night.

An arrest affidavit says witnesses told police that Demarcus Williams, also known as "M-Dog" participated in the robbery at gunpoint of Stone and another person and that Williams fired shots. Stone died at the scene.

The affidavit also says other suspects were involved, but does not name them.

Williams, 28, faces charges of first-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery as well as aggravated robbery.

In 2006, at the age of 16, Williams was charged in the fatal shooting of Jibreel Miller in North Memphis. He pleaded guilty in 2008 to voluntary manslaughter and attempted second-degree murder, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to online court records.

Though a full 10 years in prison would have resulted in 2018 release, inmates typically serve much less time than the amount of their sentence. It wasn't immediately clear when Williams was released.
