The incident began a little after 7 p.m. when the victim and two other men arrived at the GenX clothing store at 3256 Austin Peay in Raleigh, apparently to sell the phone, police said.

Instead, the suspect or suspects, driving a gray Chevrolet Tahoe or similar-looking vehicle, opened fire, striking two of the three men. The victims then drove to the nearby Methodist Hospital-North. A 20-year-old man was initially listed in critical condition, but later succumbed to his injuries. A 22-year-old man also was hit and is in critical condition. The third person in the car, an 18-year-old man, was uninjured.

Police have made no arrests in the case yet.
