Memphis police investigate after a man was fatally shot in the Westwood area Tuesday morning.

The deaths of two men found earlier this week in separate incidents have been ruled homicides, according to Memphis police.

Tuesday, police found 45-year-old Marlon Toney dead in his 2001 Honda Accord in the 4400 block of Cimmaron in Westwood.

Police said at the time they did not know how Toney died and were awaiting a ruling from the Medical Examiner's office on a cause of death.

Late Tuesday, police spokesman Karen Rudolph said in an email that Toney died from a gunshot wound.

On Monday, police were conducting another death investigation after a man was found dead outside an East Memphis home in the 1800 block of Danville Road, off Perkins and Mallory.

Police identified the victim as 29-year-old Raphael Strong.

Rudolph said Monday that there appeared to be "no foul play" in his death and police were waiting on a cause of death.

After an autopsy, it was discovered that Strong died from a gunshot wound. Investigators have not announced a possible motive for the slayings or any arrests.
