3 dead in separate incidents early Sunday in Memphis

Memphis recorded two more homicides early Sunday morning in separate incidents that left three dead.

At 12:45 a.m. officers responding to a call in the 3400 block of Benbow found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to an email from the Memphis Police Department.

The 45-year-old victim was taken in critical condition to Regional One Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

No one is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

At 3:41 a.m., officers responded to an apparent murder/suicide in the 1200 block of Thrushcross Cove, according to a statement from MPD. A 65-year-old female was found inside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds; the suspect, a 67-year-old man, was found with a single gunshot wound.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

These incidents bring the homicide tally in Memphis for 2017 to 29.
