Two shot, one dead in South Memphis

A shooting in South Memphis on Thursday night left one man dead and another in critical condition, police said.

The incident happened about 7 p.m. in the 800 block of Garden Row, a few blocks from LeMoyne-Owen College and not far from Elmwood Cemetery. Responding officers found two victims. One was taken to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition; the other was pronounced dead.

Police had made no arrests late Thursday.
