Beale Street entertainment district's development would extend eastward with a proposed six-story, 101-room hotel.

A Vib by Best Western is proposed for 404 Beale, east of Fourth and across Beale from Robert Church Park.

The proposed Vib by Best Western hotel would rise on a vacant 2 acres at 404 Beale, across from Robert Church Park.

Amit Patel and Kamiesh Patel have applied to the Land Use Control Board for a special use permit.

The L-shaped development on about two, vacant acres would extend north from Beale to Gayoso.

The proposed hotel has 40 yards of frontage on Beale be oriented perpendicular to the famous street. The 75 yards of frontage on Gayoso would be dominated by a five-level parking garage.

The site plan shows a fountain and plaza in front of the hotel on Beale.

The plans show 16 surface parking spaces, and 203 total including the garage spaces.

Efforts to reach the project applicants were unsuccessful late Thursday afternoon.

The Best Western website describes its Vib brand "a stylish urban boutique hotel concept'' featuring "a vibrant and modern design with a focus on convenience, technology and social engagement.''

The Land Use Control Board is to review the application at its meeting at 10 a.m. May 11 in City Hall.
