Police investigate fatal shooting at Budget Host Inn

Memphis police are investigating the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man  who was taken by private vehicle to the hospital shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Police responded to a shooting call at about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday at the Budget Host Inn at 2745 Airways in South Memphis and were able to locate a crime scene.

While there, investigators learned that the male victim had been take to Methodist South Hospital.

The victim had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No one is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

This is the 89th homicide for 2017, compared with 93 homicides a year ago.
