Eric Logan, 46, was shot to death in Memphis on Friday.

Memphis police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in the Bethel Grove area early Friday morning.

Family identified the victim as 46-year-old Eric Logan and described him as a generous, caring father.

"I really miss him," said his nephew, 26-year-old Raymond Jordan.

Police were called to the 2300 block of Kimball shortly after 12 a.m.

A man told police that he and the victim were outside the home. He said when he went inside to get his cigarettes, he heard several gunshots and returned to find the victim dead in the driveway.

The man told officers that he saw someone driving the victim's 2008 Infiniti G35 west from the scene with a red car trailing behind.

Investigators said the victim was possibly shot during a robbery. No arrests have been made.

Logan's daughter, 19-year-old Tava Tate, said her father loved dogs, cracking jokes and giving to others.

"He didn't deserve this," she said.
