Reward offered in recent killing at gas station

A reward has been offered to help solve a recent killing at a Marathon gas station in South Memphis.

Shahid Zamar, 40, was found fatally shot inside the gas station's store at 8 South Parkway East shortly after 4 a.m. on July 4, according to a Memphis police statement posted on Facebook. Police have concluded the victim died during a business robbery.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-2274 or the Homicide Bureau at 636-3300.

A reward of up to $1,000 may be paid for information leading to an arrest, the police department said.
