Gunshot victim dies in early morning homicide

Police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday in the 3100 block of Faxon Avenue.

Officers responded to a shooting call at 4:32 a.m., according to Memphis police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph. Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The unidentified victim was transported to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

Officers learned that a suspect was seen in a blue Chevrolet Tahoe, but the suspect remains at large.

The homicide is the 108th of the year, compared to 127 at this time last year. The number of criminal homicides is 99, compared to 117 at the same point last year.
