The ministers feel issues of layoffs, education and infant mortality in the black community are not being funded properly. They are holding a meeting Monday at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where they also held a press conference Wed.

30 Jan. 06 --Dwight Montgomery, president of the Memphis chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, visits Hattie Woodard, 61, while a crew from Womack Painting and Tile donates their time to renovate the exterior of her South Memphis home on Monday.  Woodard, who is blind and a diabetic, said her TennCare benefits have been reduced, forcing her to make choices over which medications she can take.  "This is proof we're not just talking about it, we're doing it," said Montgomery, who said the SCLC got involved when they heard about Woodard's plight.
