A 27-year-old man has been charged with fatally shooting his co-worker outside a Southeast Memphis warehouse because he alleges the victim  looked at him the wrong way.

Tarance Coleman II has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Marcus Nelson.

Police said Coleman, his father and the victim rode to work together Wednesday morning.

When the three arrived at the Staton Wholesale warehouse at 3791 Knight Road, investigators said Coleman got out of his 2018 Toyota Tundra, pulled a gun from underneath the seat and shot the victim multiple times.

He later admitted to police that he shot Nelson because he said the victim "mean mugged him" as they arrived at the job.

Coleman remains in jail and will be arraigned on the charges Friday in court.
