Police investigate weekend's fifth shooting death

Memphis police are investigating a Sunday evening shooting death at Ross Road and Birch Run Lane in Southeast Memphis.

Police said in a Twitter post that the male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is the fifth shooting death in Memphis this weekend.

On Friday night a man was shot and killed on Stone Way Lane in Raleigh inside an apartment complex near the intersection of Coleman Road and Raleigh-Lagrange Road, police said.

Steve Guidry, 67, was shot and killed on Saturday on the 2100 block of East Person in Castalia Heights. Later on Saturday, a still unidentified victim was killed on the 4000 block of Jackson Avenue.

And at 4 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a crash call on the 3000 block of Johnson Avenue in Binghamton and found a male shooting victim who had crashed his car into a house. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators don't know where that victim was shot.
